Mayor Ross Siemens in attendance on Wednesday (May 1) at Mill Lake Park to mark occasion

The Abbotsford Lawn Bowling Club celebrated its opening day on Wednesday (May 1) at Mill Lake Park.

Abbotsford Mayor Ross Siemens had the honour of bowling first.

The schedule for May is Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. (arrive at 6 p.m.) and Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (arrive at 10 a.m.).

The club is also offering croquet, which is a new addition in 2024. Croquet will be Saturday mornings at 10:30 a.m. (arrive at 10 a.m.). This Saturday (May 4) is registration.

The club offers two free sessions to try lawn bowling, as well as one session with other club members. There is an annual membership fee to join.

Abbotsford Lawn Bowling Club was founded in 1935. The old facility was located at Jubilee Park, but closed operation in preparation for a move to Mill Lake Park after the 2018 season. In 2021 the new facility was ready for use after the COVID-19 pandemic prevented operation. The club is open from May to September depending on the weather.
